Coforge salary hike 2026 CEO statement and employee-reported appraisal trends

What Coforge's CEO Said About Hikes on 28 July 2026

Coforge has not published an annual increment percentage, and its earnings call for the January to March 2026 quarter, held on 5 May 2026, did not discuss wages at all. The next call did. On 28 July 2026, during the call for the April to June 2026 quarter, Sandeep Shah of Equirus Securities asked when wage hikes would happen this year. Sudhir Singh replied that for "a highly select group" wage hikes "did go into effect in Quarter One", but "for the broader organization, we anticipate no wage hikes at least till the first of January of next year. And that too is uncertain." He added: "So we may not have hikes in the current fiscal, and if we do at a broad level, it is not going to be before quarter four."

In plain terms: the April to June 2026 quarter was Coforge's first quarter of the year to March 2027, so "quarter four" means January to March 2027, the same window his January line points to. When he spoke, most Coforge employees were not expected to get a broad increment before January 2027, and he did not rule out skipping it for the whole year. He did not say who was in the select group or give any percentage.

What Coforge's Own Numbers Say

On the same call, Coforge said total headcount at the end of the April to June 2026 quarter stood at 46,228, a net addition of 10,451 in the quarter that includes 9,256 people who joined through the Encora acquisition. On an organic basis the workforce grew by a net 1,195. Utilisation was 82.5%, and last-12-month attrition fell to 10.4%, which management called among the lowest in the industry.

None of that is a hike figure. PapersAdda's reading: the deferral happened while the business was still adding people and keeping attrition low, so a strong quarter on its own is not a sign that a broad increment is close.

What Employees Report About the Actual Hike

AmbitionBox's Coforge overview page, checked 28 September 2026, states that career growth at Coforge is rated as poor, with a promotions and appraisal rating of 2.7, and that 44% of employees rated Coforge 3 or below on promotions and appraisal, based on more than 9,700 employee reviews. Individual reviews on the same site swing between very different experiences, and they are not all from this cycle:

What the reviewer reportedReviewer's own words (AmbitionBox, employee-reported)
A specific low hike, repeated"They don't give hikes even they give there will be 3% hike for 2 years only once."
No hike at all for years"Almost no increment since 2021"
A good hike, paired with a genuine like"Great work culture, good salary hike, good for learning new technologies"
A long appraisal window (a community post about four months old when checked)"Coforge kicks off appraisals in March but wraps up only by October."

These are individual, employee-reported accounts from AmbitionBox, not an official Coforge disclosure or a statistically representative sample. Treat each one as one person's experience, and confirm your own number only in your appraisal letter.

Separately, one reviewer describes appraisal and variable-pay timing as not always aligned with the financial year, adding to the uncertainty around when a cycle actually closes. Another describes salary, hike and increments as depending on which section you fall into, IT services or business process services (BPS). This guide could not confirm a formal difference in hike policy between the two sides, so treat it as one person's account and ask your own manager which entity your role sits under. For this cycle, the CEO's July answer is the context that matters: outside a highly select group, no broad increment had been given when he spoke.

Coforge Pay Bands by Role, Employee-Reported

Your hike lands on top of your current fixed pay, so it helps to know where your role sits before you estimate a number. AmbitionBox's Coforge salaries page, based on 69.8k salaries, updated 25 September 2026 and checked 28 September 2026, lists these designation-level ranges:

DesignationExperience bandEmployee-reported annual range
Software Engineer1 to 5 yearsRs 6.2 L to Rs 6.8 L
Software Developer1 to 6 yearsRs 8.2 L to Rs 9 L
Test Engineer1 to 6 yearsRs 6.6 L to Rs 7.3 L
Senior Software Engineer2 to 9 yearsRs 14.5 L to Rs 16 L
Technical Lead5 to 14 yearsRs 26.3 L to Rs 29 L

Employee-reported ranges from AmbitionBox, checked 28 September 2026, not an official Coforge pay scale. Your own offer letter and appraisal letter are the only numbers that bind Coforge.

What Drives Your Coforge Hike This Year

Company timing comes first. When the CEO spoke on 28 July 2026, broad hikes were not expected before January 2027, so for most employees the question this year is when, not how much.

The select group is the exception. Hikes did go into effect in April to June 2026 for a highly select group, per the CEO, but Coforge did not say who qualified. If you received one, your letter is the record.

Which entity you sit in may matter. Per the one account above describing an IT-versus-BPS split, ask your reporting manager rather than assuming a single company-wide rule.

Variable pay is a separate risk. At least two AmbitionBox reviewers say variable pay was not paid in full, so read the fixed and variable lines of any letter separately.

Apart from the CEO's statement, none of this is official Coforge policy.

How to Read Your Coforge Appraisal Letter

ComponentWhat to check
Fixed-pay incrementThe percentage raise on your base pay, your real hike
Variable payTied to your rating and, per at least two AmbitionBox reviewers, not always paid in full
Effective dateWhen the revised pay actually starts landing in your account
Revised CTCThe new total, including variable and benefits, not your monthly take-home

1. Separate the fixed-pay line from the CTC headline before you react to a number. At least two AmbitionBox reviewers point at variable pay, not the fixed component, as the part that was not paid in full.

2. Confirm your effective date in writing. With broad hikes deferred, the effective date decides when the new pay starts, so ask HR whether it is backdated.

3. If your number looks out of step with your rating, raise it while the cycle is still open. Waiting for the next cycle to question a number rarely helps.

WHAT PAPERSADDA THINKS

The CEO's July answer explains the gap between Coforge's investor-facing numbers and its employee-facing reputation on hikes better than any aggregator average can: the business was adding people and keeping attrition low, and broad increments were held back anyway. That was a management choice, stated plainly to investors, and it is the single most useful fact on this page. Plan on no broad increment before January 2027 and treat anything earlier as upside. The AmbitionBox ratings, and the one reviewer who named "good salary hike" as a like, show that experiences vary by team and role, but they do not override what the CEO said about this year. If Coforge updates its position on a later results call, that newer statement replaces this one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Coforge salary hike for 2026?

Coforge has not published a percentage. On its 28 July 2026 earnings call, CEO Sudhir Singh said hikes took effect in the April to June 2026 quarter only for a highly select group, and that for the broader organisation Coforge anticipated no wage hikes at least till 1 January 2027, possibly none in the year to March 2027. Confirm your own position in your appraisal letter.

When does Coforge run its appraisal cycle?

Coforge has not published a cycle date. One AmbitionBox community post, about four months old when checked on 28 September 2026, describes appraisals running from March to October, and another reviewer says appraisal and variable-pay timing is not always aligned with the financial year. For this year the CEO's 28 July 2026 answer matters more: no broad hike was expected before January 2027.

How is Coforge's promotions and appraisal experience rated by employees?

AmbitionBox rates Coforge's promotions and appraisal experience at 2.7 out of 5, with 44% of reviewers rating it 3 or below, based on more than 9,700 employee reviews checked 28 September 2026. This is an employee-reported perception score, not an official company metric.

Does the hike differ between Coforge's IT and BPS sides?

One AmbitionBox reviewer describes salary, hike and increments as depending on which entity, IT services or business process services (BPS), an employee sits under. PapersAdda could not confirm this as formal Coforge policy, so confirm with your own manager rather than assuming it applies to your role.

Why is Coforge holding back hikes when the business is growing?

The CEO did not give a reason in his answer. The same call reported 46,228 employees at the end of June 2026, including 9,256 who joined through the Encora acquisition, utilisation of 82.5% and attrition of 10.4%. PapersAdda's reading is that the deferral was a company decision taken while the business was still adding people, not a sign that Coforge is shrinking.

Where is the binding Coforge hike figure?

Only your own appraisal letter binds Coforge. Everything on this page is either a dated company statement to investors, a Coforge business metric that says nothing about your personal hike, or an employee-reported account from AmbitionBox.
