HCL TechBee 2026: Eligibility, Fee, 10K Stipend, 2.2-2.5 LPA

HCL TechBee lets a student start working in IT straight after Class 12 instead of spending four years on a degree first. It is not free, and it is not a bonded job in the way many older guides describe. This page is built only from what the official TechBee site states, and it says clearly where the official site is silent.

The Fee Comes First

Most confusion about TechBee starts here. It is a paid training program, and the fee depends on the track.

• IT Services: program fee INR 1.80 lakh; starting salary INR 2.75 lakh per annum per the Eligibility Criteria block, though the Program Highlights section separately states a ₹2.20-2.50 lakh range.
• Business Process Operations (called Digital Process Support on HCL's page as recently as June 2026): program fee INR 0.81 lakh; starting salary INR 2.40 lakh per annum per the Eligibility Criteria block, within the same ₹2.20-2.50 lakh Highlights range.

The official Job Program page adds that TechBee is offered by HCL Training & Staffing Services (HCL TSS), a subsidiary of HCLTech and an approved training partner of the National Skill Development Corporation, and that its services are GST-exempt under the notification it cites.

Before paying, read the official FAQ on admission withdrawal. It lists the grounds on which HCLTech can cancel an admission at any stage, including misrepresented marks, qualifications or documents, and failure to pay the program fees on time. Eligibility: Board-Wise Class 12 Marks

TechBee does not use one flat percentage. The minimum qualifying Class 12 marks depend on your board.

The other official conditions:

• Mathematics: Mathematics or Business Mathematics is mandatory, with a minimum of 60% marks, for IT roles only.
• Passing year: you must be an Indian resident who passed the Class 12 board exams in 2025 or 2026.
• Improvement exams: if you have two Class 12 mark sheets (original and improvement), the latest marks in all subjects are used to calculate your percentage.
• JEE Main route: applicants with 80 percentile or above in JEE Main (2025 or 2026) are exempt from HCL CAT and can go straight to Versant and the interviews. The board cut-off and the 60 marks in Maths still apply.

A CBSE student with 68% is below the bar, while a Bihar board student with 62% and 60 in Maths clears it for IT roles. Check your own board's row before you register. The TechBee eligibility checklist covers the documents to keep ready.

Selection Process: 4 Official Steps

The official Job Program page lists four steps:

1. Registration on the official TechBee application route.
2. HCL CAT: a basic career aptitude test of quantitative and logical reasoning.
3. HR Interview and Essay grading: a face-to-face interaction with the HCLTech selection committee.
4. Versant: a test of language skills, including spoken English.

HCLTech does not publish the CAT's question count, duration or cut-off on the pages we checked. Treat any exact pattern you see elsewhere as candidate-reported. How the 12 Months Are Split

Classroom training (6 to 9 months). Per the official Career Path section, candidates learn IT fundamentals, including programming languages and relevant industry tools, processes and certifications, alongside communication and personal grooming lessons.

On-the-job training (3 to 6 months). Candidates work on live projects at HCLTech. This is the internship phase, and it is the phase in which the ₹10,000 monthly stipend is paid.

That split matters for budgeting. The stipend does not cover the classroom months, so a family should not plan on ₹10,000 a month for the full year.

After successful completion, the official page says you begin working as a full-time Associate or IT Services professional, in entry-level roles across Software Engineering, Infrastructure Management, Test Engineering, Design Engineering and Digital Process Operations. It also lists HCL Healthcare benefits such as medical insurance, family insurance and routine health check-ups.

Salary After Training

HCL's own Job Program page states two different figures (checked 28 September 2026): the Eligibility Criteria block gives ₹2.75 lakh per annum for IT Services and ₹2.40 lakh for Business Process Operations, while the Program Highlights and Job Details sections give a ₹2.20-2.50 lakh per annum range. The page adds that CTC should be in line with the minimum wages of the state, so confirm the exact figure for your offer.

HCLTech does not publish appraisal cycles, year-two salary or promotion bands for TechBee hires on the pages we checked. The Service Agreement, Stated Correctly

An earlier version of this page described a 4-year bond with a ₹1 lakh exit penalty. The official site does not support that, so we removed it. What the official FAQ says:

• Employees who opt for a UG or PG program through a partner university sign a service agreement to work with HCLTech for 2 years after course completion.
• The agreement is signed only once, either after UG or after PG.
• Before opting for the course, the employee signs a consent form acknowledging the service agreement clause, which becomes binding after successful course completion.

The official pages we checked publish no penalty amount. If a document you are asked to sign names one, that document is your authority, so read it before you sign.

Higher Education Partners

HCLTech's Higher Education page names these partners for TechBee scholars: Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, BITS Pilani, IIIT Kottayam, IIM Sirmaur, IIT Guwahati, Amity University Online, SASTRA University and PES University. The degree is optional. Choosing one is what triggers the 2-year service agreement above, so weigh the degree and the agreement together.

Is TechBee Worth It?

It suits a student who wants to earn early, is comfortable with a paid program, and clears their board's cut-off with room to spare. It is a weaker fit if the family cannot absorb the fee, or if the student is set on a full-time campus degree.

What the Official Site Does Not Confirm

We could not confirm these on hcltechbee.com as of 15 September 2026, so this page does not state them: registration opening and closing dates for a 2026 intake, HCL CAT dates, CAT pattern and cut-off, training locations, training-to-job conversion rates, an age limit, and any bond penalty amount.
