Infosys-Focused Interview Practice: Explain Your Work Clearly
Original technical and behavioural practice prompts, not a verified transcript of an Infosys interview or a prediction of the current process.
on this page§ 05
These are original practice prompts for a graduate preparing to discuss technical work. They are not a released Infosys question bank, a record of a particular interview, or evidence that a topic will appear in a current process. Check the role notice and your invitation for the only live instructions that apply to you.
Start with your own project
The strongest preparation material is a project you can explain accurately. Pick one project and answer these questions aloud:
- What problem did the project solve for its user?
- What did you personally build, and what did another person build?
- Which data entered the system, where was it stored, and how was it validated?
- What failed during development, and how did you diagnose it?
- What trade-off would you revisit if you had another week?
Avoid turning an answer into a list of tools. A clear explanation connects a choice to a reason and a consequence.
Technical practice prompts
Arrays. Given a list of integers and a target total, describe a direct approach before choosing a faster one. State the time and memory cost of each. Test repeated values and an empty list.
Strings. Explain how you would check whether two strings contain the same letters with different ordering. Then explain what changes if character case matters.
Databases. A table contains duplicate email values that should be unique. Describe a safe investigation before proposing a constraint. Mention the need for a backup or review plan before a destructive data change.
Operating systems. Contrast a process and a thread using a program you have written. Explain why shared state needs care.
Networks. Walk through what can happen between entering a URL and seeing a response. You do not need to recite every protocol; focus on the purpose of name resolution, a request, and a response.
Behavioural practice prompts
These questions do not require a dramatic story. They require an accurate one.
- Describe a time you received feedback that changed your work.
- Tell us about a task where the requirements were unclear. What did you ask before starting?
- Describe a disagreement about an implementation choice. How did the group decide?
- Explain a work commitment whose timing you could not meet. When did you communicate the risk, and what did you do next?
Use a simple structure: situation, your responsibility, action, result, and reflection. Do not invent a result. If the result was mixed, say what you learned.
Review without trying to predict a selection outcome
Record every practice answer in a short note. Mark answers that were vague, answers that used unexplained jargon, and answers that lacked an example. Improve one weakness at a time. This is a better use of practice than trying to infer why unnamed candidates did or did not receive a later response.
The Infosys careers page is included only as a place to find current role information. It does not validate a question sequence, interviewer behaviour, or a hiring decision.
FAQs
Are these exact Infosys interview questions?
No. They are original preparation prompts and should not be treated as a transcript or a guaranteed pattern.
Should I memorise these answers?
No. Use the prompts to practise explaining your own work. Memorised wording is less useful than an accurate, flexible explanation.
Where can I confirm the live interview format?
Use the current role notice and the invitation sent for your application. Those materials take priority over this guide.
