Comparing Two Technical Offer Letters Without Guessing a Salary Band

A method for reading role and compensation terms in your own documents. It does not publish Infosys SP or DSE salary figures, outcomes, or interview data.

An offer comparison should start with the documents addressed to you. This page does not publish an Infosys salary table, a role hierarchy, a market range, or a claim that one title leads to a particular outcome. Those details can depend on a specific offer, location, cohort, and contract.

Put each written term in its own row

Create a private comparison sheet with one row for each term that actually appears in an offer or formal compensation communication. Useful headings include role title, work location, fixed pay, variable pay, one-time payments, benefits, probation or training language, start date, notice requirements, and repayment clauses. Leave a cell blank when the document does not state a term.

Do not replace a blank with a figure from an online post. A number that applied to someone else may use a different employer entity, tax treatment, cost-of-living arrangement, or payment condition.

Read definitions before comparing totals

Terms such as CTC, fixed pay, variable pay, bonus, and in-hand are not interchangeable. An offer normally defines its own components. If a document does not explain a component, ask the official recruiter or payroll contact for a written clarification before treating it as spendable income.

For a simple monthly budget, use only the fixed recurring amount you can identify from your own documents. Keep variable or conditional amounts separate. This is a budgeting exercise, not a promise about what you will receive.

Compare the work, not only the headline

Role title alone may not explain responsibilities. Review the job description, manager or team information if provided, expected skills, location expectations, and learning support. Write down questions you would want answered before accepting, such as whether a term is contingent on a condition or whether the work location can change.

If you are comparing two offers, give each one its own document source. Do not combine a verbal statement from one process with a written term from another.

Keep questions factual and written

A good clarification request cites the exact clause: “Could you confirm whether the amount labelled variable is guaranteed or conditional under this offer?” Avoid asking a recruiter to validate an internet salary table. Their written response to your own offer is the relevant evidence.

The Infosys careers link is included as a route to current company information. It does not substantiate a particular compensation figure, title comparison, or career progression.

FAQs

What are the current SP and DSE salary figures?

This guide intentionally does not state them. Use the compensation terms in an offer addressed to you and seek written clarification for anything unclear.

Can I calculate in-hand pay from a headline package alone?

Not reliably. Components, deductions, and conditions matter. Use only defined terms from your own written documents for a personal budget.

Does a role title guarantee a particular career path?

No. Discuss responsibilities and progression with the official contact for the role rather than relying on a generic comparison.
