IBPS Calendar 2026-27: PO, Clerk, SO and RRB Exam Dates

This page started life as a notification watch. That job is done. IBPS posted the PO/MT-XVI and Specialist Officer notifications on 1 July 2026, the Clerk (CSA-XVI) notification on 1 August 2026 and the RRB (CRP RRBs-XV) notification on 1 September 2026. What follows is the calendar IBPS published on 16 January 2026, set against what each notification has confirmed since, as read from the official PDFs on 21 September 2026.

Two labels matter while you read. IBPS calls its own calendar tentative, and the notifications give only month windows for every stage after registration. The exact date and shift that binds you is the one on your call letter, so confirm on the official IBPS page for your exam before you book travel or leave.

IBPS Exam Calendar 2026-27 at a Glance

Each notification adds an edit window of two days after registration closes. The PO, SO and Clerk notifications charge Rs 200 for a correction made in that window.

What the official exam pages showed on 28 September 2026: the PO/MT-XVI page carries the Prelims result status (posted 23 September) and the Main call letter, information handout and scribe guidelines (posted 24 September); the SPL-XVI page carries no Prelims result link and no postponement notice; the CSA-XVI page carries only the notification; and the RRB page carries vacancy corrigenda dated 9, 15 and 25 September and a corrigendum dated 21 September that extended online registration to 27 September 2026.

Vacancies, Fee and Age Date for Each Exam

How these totals were read. IBPS prints a grand total only in the PO table. The Specialist Officer figure is our sum of the six post-wise totals: Agricultural Field Officer 370, IT Officer 376, Law Officer 125, Rajbhasha Adhikari 102, HR/Personnel Officer 60 and Marketing Officer 10. The Clerk figure is our sum of the 37 State and UT total rows, and the RRB figures are summed bank by bank across 28 Regional Rural Banks. Every list is labelled indicative, and Union Bank of India is marked "Not Reported" in the PO, SO and Clerk lists, so the totals can still move.

The PO total grew because two banks reported late. The notification showed Indian Bank and UCO Bank as Not Reported; the 27 August update gives them 650 and 200 posts. The largest PO rows are Bank of Baroda (1,900), Canara Bank (1,500) and Bank of Maharashtra (1,100).

Clerk vacancies are allotted State-wise, so the national total matters less than your State's row. The five largest are Uttar Pradesh (1,731), Karnataka (1,414), Maharashtra (1,051), West Bengal (946) and Gujarat (698).

What Comes Next, Exam by Exam

IBPS PO/MT-XVI: Main on 4 October 2026

The notification places the Prelims result and the Main call letter in September 2026, the Main in October, the Main result and a Personality Test in November, interviews in November and December, and provisional allotment in January 2027. The Personality Test is a self-report test that every shortlisted candidate must take, and it does not count towards qualification. Final merit uses the Main and the 100-mark interview in an 80:20 ratio.

The PO Main Is Not Last Year's Paper

If you are revising from a 2025 mock series, check it against this table. Both columns come from the official notifications.

The objective paper gains 25 questions with no extra time. English drops from 40 marks to 20, while General Awareness rises to 60 marks and now has 50 questions. The Prelims split is unchanged from 2025: English 30 marks, Quantitative Aptitude 30 marks and Reasoning 40 marks, with 20 minutes for each test. A wrong answer costs a quarter of the marks of that question in both Prelims and Main.

IBPS Clerk (CSA-XVI): Prelims on 10 and 11 October 2026

The notification schedules Pre-Examination Training and the Prelims call letter for September 2026, Prelims for October, the Prelims result and Main call letter for November, the Main for December and provisional allotment for March 2027. There is no interview. Prelims has 100 questions for 100 marks in 60 minutes. The Main has 160 questions for 200 marks in 125 minutes: General and Financial Awareness (40 questions, 50 marks, 20 minutes), General English (40, 40, 35), Reasoning Ability (40, 60, 35) and Quantitative Aptitude (40, 50, 35).

A Local Language Proficiency Test follows for the State you applied to. It is marks based and qualifying, and it is held after the Main or provisional allotment but before joining. A candidate who fails it is not appointed. Practice with the IBPS Clerk papers and read the IBPS Clerk cutoff page.

IBPS Specialist Officers (SPL-XVI): Main on 1 November 2026

The notification puts the Prelims result in September or October 2026, the Main call letter in October, the Main and its result in November, interviews in November and December, and provisional allotment in January 2027. In the Main, every test except Professional Knowledge is qualifying, and the merit list is built on the Professional Knowledge score. The IBPS SO 2026 guide covers the six posts and the pattern.

IBPS RRB (CRP RRBs-XV): Prelims from 21 November 2026

The notification set registration from 1 to 21 September 2026, which a corrigendum dated 21 September extended to 27 September 2026, and schedules Prelims for November and December 2026, the Main between December 2026 and February 2027, interviews in January and February 2027 and provisional allotment in February and March 2027. Where the Calendar Gets Tight

The gap between Prelims and Main decides how early you must start Main-level work. These gaps are counted from the last Prelims date to the Main date in the calendar.

Three Sundays in a row carry an exam in December: RRB Office Assistant Prelims end on 13 December, the RRB officer papers fall on 20 December and the Clerk Main on 27 December. A candidate who applied for both RRB and Clerk posts should plan December as one block, not three separate exams.

How to Read a Tentative IBPS Date

The January calendar gives exact dates and calls them tentative. Each notification then repeats only the month. IBPS keeps the right to change the dates and the selection process for administrative reasons, court orders or government advisories, and it announces any change on ibps.in.

So treat the three sources in this order. The call letter is final. The notification and its corrigenda decide eligibility, fee, vacancies and pattern. The calendar is a planning anchor. Vacancy figures are the least stable item on this page: IBPS has already revised the PO and SO lists twice and the RRB list twice in this cycle.
